1. What Human by Hand is
Human by Hand is a monthly subscription service that delivers curated literary excerpts, commentary, and writing prompts by physical mail. We also offer an annual Premium plan that includes a notebook and pen.
2. Subscriptions and billing
Monthly plans are billed monthly. Annual Standard and Annual Premium plans are billed in full upfront for 12 monthly deliveries. All subscriptions automatically renew at the end of each billing period unless you cancel. You can cancel or pause your monthly subscription at any time through your account or by contacting us. Annual plans are paid upfront and renew annually.
3. Shipping and delivery
We currently ship only within the United States. Mailings are sent during the first week of each month. Delivery times vary based on weekends, holidays, and USPS handling. If a mailing is lost or damaged in transit, contact us and we will replace it at no charge.
4. Refunds and cancellations
Monthly subscribers can cancel anytime; you will retain access to any mailings already sent. For annual plans, if you are unhappy with your first mailing, contact us within 14 days of delivery for a prorated refund of the unused portion. After the first month, annual plans are non-refundable but can be canceled at the end of the current annual term.
5. Intellectual property
The commentary, prompts, and original materials we create are owned by Human by Hand. Excerpts from published works are used for educational and commentary purposes. Materials are for your personal use only and may not be resold, redistributed, or reproduced commercially.
6. Acceptable use
Do not use our service to harass, abuse, or defraud others. We reserve the right to refuse service or cancel subscriptions for violations of these terms.
7. Changes to these terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we will post the updated terms here with a new effective date. Continued use of the service after changes means you accept the updated terms.
